In 2009 we had the chance to return to the Thames for a second summer. While friends had taken their barge to explore Holland, Belgium and France, we looked after their cats and lovely garden mooring at Cookham. The original plan to exchange for six months was extended for another year, which was a happy arrangement for all concerned.
