Having purchased Esme in North Holland and brought her to England in 2007, we spent our first two happy years in Woodbridge, Suffolk. More about the crossing from Belgium here.

Relaxing on deck out at sea

In 2008 we brought Esme to the Thames for our summer holidays and spent five wonderful weeks exploring this beautiful river as far as Henley including a weekend at the DBA West India Dock Barge Rally. 2008 pictures here

We returned to Woodbridge for the winter and were very lucky to have the chance to return to the Thames for a second summer, 2009. While friends have taken their barge to explore Holland, Belgium and France, we are looking after their cats and lovely garden mooring at Cookham. The original plan to exchange for six months has been extended for another year, which is a happy arrangement for all concerned. Pictures of our 2009 cruising here
