Aquarelle
Mike and Rosaleen Miller, enthusiastic Barrow Branch members, have been planning to live aboard a boat on the European waterways for a long time. Aquarelle was built in their garden over six and half years by Mike, and finally launched in Carrick-on-Suir, after his retirement, in April 2004. A year was spent on home waters to make sure all systems were working, and then it was ‘D-Day’.

She was built and operated by the Van der Veen family of Amsterdam, father and son until Lammert and the barge retired in 1994.

Johanna - Self catering barge holidays in France & Belgium
JOHANNA is a Dutch river barge built in 1923 and in trade until 1990. She has now been converted to carry six self catering passengers along the unique canals and rivers of Belgium and France. John the skipper took us for a wonderful week on Johanna in 2006 from Namur to Sedan, it was the key in our decision to become bargees. An excellent intro to barging for dreamers.
